The Republic of Bulgaria

    Day by Day
  • Day 01
    Arrival in Bulgaria

    You will fly to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. For the rest of the time, you may choose to rest at hotel to recover from the jet lag or wander around the city nearby.

  • Day 02
    Sofia

    At first, the city was not called Sofia. The city was renamed Sofia after the St. Sofia Church since 14th century. For this reason, the church will be your first destination today. And after that, you will visit the Boyana Church, which is praised as the ‘pearl on the crown of Sofia’ and has been listed in the World Cultural Heritage. The remaining day is free for you to explore the city by yourselves. You can wander around this famous garden city leisurely. The city’s center square is also recommended, where many famous scenic spots of Sofia are located in.

  • Day 03
    Sofia - Plovdiv

    In the morning, you will visit the largest monastery of the country---Rila Monastery. This monastery dates back to the 10th century and is in the World Cultural Heritage list. It is regarded as the ‘national spirit pillar’ of Bulgarian people. Later, you will proceed to visit the Monastery Museum. After lunch, you will move forward to Plovdiv, the second largest city in Bulgaria.

  • Day 04
    Plovdiv - Kazanlak

    The Ancient Plovdiv was founded in the 4th century. You will tour around the Ancient Plovdiv in the morning. The scenic spots you are going to visit are the Roman Stadium, the St. Constantine Church, the Elena Church, the Antique Theatre and the Ethnographic Museum etc. And then you will head for Kazanlak to see the Thracian Kazanlak Tomb, a famous spot listed in the World Cultural Heritage.

  • Day 05
    Shumen - Etara

    Today’s tour will take you to the Shumen town area. Along the way, you will stop at Etara to visit the open-air ethnographic museum and appreciate the ancient Bulgarian handicrafts. After the visit, you will move on to Shumen.

  • Day 06
    Shumen - Veliko Turnovo

    In Shumen, you will never miss the magnificent Madara Horseman, which is another famous attraction in the World Cultural Heritage list. Except for the sculptures, the cliff was also graved with inscription which recorded the events happened between 705 AD and 831 AD. In the afternoon, you will head to Veliko Turnovo to visit the picturesque Arbanassi village. It is a famous ancient village which has lots of churches and grand buildings.

  • Day 07
    Veliko Turnovo

    You will tour around Veliko Turnovo along the old trading street in the morning. Then you will move to visit the famous Tsarevets Fortress, which is the former top royal palace of Bulgaria. The church inside the palace has enshrined many exquisite historical paintings and so on. After the visit here, you will return back to Sofia.

  • Day 08
    Departure from Bulgaria

    After breakfast, you will pack your luggage and check out the hotel before 12:00 o’clock. Then you can take a taxi to transfer to the airport and take a flight flying back home.
