Jiangxi-Hong Kong Direct Bus Route Operated as of Nov. 17th

On the morning of November 17th, the first Jiangxi-Hong Kong direct bus left Ganzhou Bus Station of Jiangxi Province. It takes about 7 hours to finish the whole journey.

There are now two 44-seat shuttling buses between Ganzhou and Hong Kong every day as of November 18th, 2007, respectively leaving at 08:00 and 10:30. Passengers can buy the bus tickets at Ganzhou Bus Station, Ganxian County Bus Station, Quannan Bus Station, Dingnan Bus Station, Xunwu Bus Station. Also, they can ring the ticket-booking hot line of Ganzhou Bus Station 8126190, 8101185.

However, passengers for Hong Kong have to go to the police organs to transact their customs declarations themselves in advance, with ID cards and other relevant certificates.

Beijing: 15 Newly-built Suburban Parks to Opened Free of Charge as of Next May

It's said that 15 newly-built suburban parks featuring natural ecological landscape will be opened to the public for free in Beijing as of May, 2008.

The 15 parks are as follows:

Chaoyang District: Capital Pear Garden of Pingfang Township, Xinglong Park of Gaobeidian village, Jiangfu Garden, Suburban Park of Dongba Township, Changying Park, Laiguangying Morning Forest Park, Wangsiying Old Pagoda Park, Shibalidian Laojuntang Park, Sanjianfang Gutta-percha Park.

Haidian District: Evergreen Jade East Park, Evergreen Danqingfu Park, Kunyu River Sight Aisle Changchun Healthy Garden.

Fengtai District: Lugou Bridge Cultural Park

Changping District: Dongxiaokou Forest Park

Daxing District: JiugongTown Wangxing Lake Park

China Southern Airlines Joins in Sky Team Alliance

On the morning of November 15th, 2007, China Southern Airlines announced that they joined in Sky Team Alliance in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing.

As the largest airlines in China, Southern Airlines is the first airline company that has joined in Sky Team Alliance. Sky Team Alliance is a global airlines alliance established on June 22nd, 2000, whose passenger transport is the largest in the world. The air routes of Sky Team Alliance covers 841 destinations of the world, connecting 162 countries and districts.

Xingjiang Branch Company of CSA (China Southern Airlines) has opened Xining-Chongqing-Sanya air route as of November 14th, 2007.

Zhangjiajie: Wulingyuan Scenic Area to Opened For Free Temporarily in the Last Week of Dec.

Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the main scenic spot of Zhangjiajie, will be opened to the public free of charge from December 25th to 31st, 2007. Then, visitors can enjoy the beautiful snow scenery of northern China closely.

Suzhou: Chongyuan Temple to Opened

A grand inauguration ceremony of Suzhou Chongyuan Temple will be held in front of the Grand Hall of the temple on November 17th, 2007.

As a rising religious tourist spot located in the east of Suzhou, this temple will be opened to the public for free in the first three months. Meanwhile, visitors will only need to pay for CNY 1 for visiting the Temple Compounds and the Goddess of Mercy Pavilion from February 18th of 2008 to February 18th of 2009, when the elevator fee to the top of the Goddess of Mercy Pavilion will be only CNY 20 per person.

Visitors can take Bus No. 126, 128 and 169 to Chongyuan Temple directly then.

Rail Laying of Beijing-Tianjin Rapid Railway Begins

At 15:30 of November 13th, the first rail of Beijing-Tianjin Rapid Railway was laid near Tianjin, and it's planned that the rails will be laid into Beijing in December of 2007.

With a length of 117 kilometers (73 miles), the rapid railway between Beijing and Tianjin will be a special passenger express railway with a designed speed of 350 kilometers (217 miles) per hour. It will start the trial operations in the first quarter of 2008, and will be put into use before Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Mt. Taishan: Ticket Prices to Rise as of Dec. 1st.

The off-season ticket price of Mt. Taishan is to be adjusted up from present CNY 80 to CNY 100 as of December 1st, 2007.

However, students and over 60-year-old people can respectively enjoy their preferential ticket price CNY 60 and CNY 50. Children and over 70-year-old people will be permitted to enter the mountain for free. Tourist groups of over ten persons can enjoy a 10% discount on the full ticket price.

The National Grand Theater to Start Opening Performances as of Dec. 22nd

The National Grand Theater of Beijing is to start opening performances as of Dec. 22nd, 2007, and it will last until April 6th, 2008.

During the more than 100 days, there will be 180 performances by the world top-level and domestic high-class artists, including Peng Liyuan, Li Yundi, Jose Carreras, Seiji Ozawa and Valery Gergiev. The performances will cover operas, dance dramas, musical plays, modern dramas and ethnic dramas, of which 33% will be foreign ones, and the rest 67% will be domestic.

To let the public know more about the performances, the new-edition official website of the National Grand Theater has been opened to the public. In addition, the online tickets booking system will also be opened on November 30th, and the lowest ticket price will be CNY 30.
