Tianjin: Public Museums to Opened for Free as of Dec. 28th

Tianjin municipal public museums will be opened to the public for free forever as of December 28th, 2007.

Firstly, Tianjin Museum, Pingjin Battle Memorial Hall, Memorial Hall of Zhou En'lai and Deng Yingchao and Tianjin Drum Tower will be opened for free. Museum of Natural History will adopt a gradual transition from a half-price admission fee to zero. The Confucius Temple and the Memorial Hall of Li Shutong will be opened for free after the reconstruction.

To avoid the crowding, visitors have to get the free tickets from the ticket booths before they enter in the early period of the free opening. A total of 19 public ticket booths have been set up in the culture centers, libraries and cinemas and theatres of Tianjin.

Chongqing: The First Banan Hot Spring Culture and Tourism Festival to Start

The First Banan Hot Spring Culture and Tourism Festival will be held in Banan District of Chongqing as of December 28th, 2007. It aims to show the hot springs, agricultural products and the folk customs of the local areas.

Beijing: The Period of Train Tickets Pre-sale Adjusted

Approved by China's Railway Ministry, the period of Beijing train tickets pre-sale was adjusted to four days on December 26th, 2007. This adjustment will last until March 2nd, 2008.

Tickets for the trains with the train number starting with 'T' (express train), 'K' (fast train), 'N' (local fast train) and all the ordinary trains starting from Beijing are sold four days ahead. However, the period of train tickets pre-sale for the trains with the train number starting with 'Z' (through express train) and 'D' (multiple unit train) remains ten days.

In addition, except the 'Z' and 'D' trains, Beijing Railway Station will not sell any return or joint ticket or tickets for trains starting from other cities during this period.

Beijing: Route Map of Shichahai Rickshaw Hutong Tour Publicized

The route of Shichahai Rickshaw Hutong Tour in Beijing has been clearly defined as two loop lines and two branch lines, and the number of the rickshaw has also been limited within 300.

The area for the Hutong tour is restricted like this : south of Gulou West Street (鼓楼西大街), west of Di'anmen Waidajie (地安门外大街), north of Di'anmen West Street (地安门西大街) and east of Deshengmennei Dajie (德内大街).

The two loop lines are:
Qianhai Xijie (前海西街)-Qianhai Beiyan (前海北沿)-Houhai Nanyan (后海南沿)-Liuyin Street (柳荫街)-Qianhai Xijie (前海西街)
Qianhai Xijie-Qianhai Beiyan-Yinding Bridge (银锭桥)-Houhai Beiyan (后海北沿)- Mallard Island (野鸭岛)-Houhai Nanyan-Liuyin Street-Qianhai Xijie

The two branch lines are:
Qianhai Xijie-Southern End of Nanguanfang (南官房南口)-(turn right)-East Road of Nanguanfang (南官房东路)-the main route of the first loop line
Qianhai Xijie- Southern End of Nanguanfang-(turn left)Zhanzi Hutong (毡子胡同)-Daxiangfeng Hutong (大翔凤)-Liuyin Street-the main route of the first loop line

Yan'an-Shanghai Air Route to Opened on Dec. 29th

Shanghai Airlines is to open Shanghai-Yan'an air route on December 29th, 2007. The airplane for this route is 50-seat CRJ-200, and there will be three flights from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Yan'an Airport respectively on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The schedule is as follows:
