Urumqi-Ningbo Flight and Ordos-Xian-Shenzhen Flight Debut

News from Xinhua Agency said that China Eastern Airways starts a daily Urumqi-Ningbo direct flight as of August 7, 2007. Plus, a daily shuttle flight from Ordos to Shenzhen via Xian was also opened as of August 8, 2007.

The Urumqi-Ningbo direct flight sets off at 17:40 from Urumqi and arrives in Ningbo at 23:10. Operated by CZ3329/CZ3330, the Ordos-Xian-Shenzhen flight flies off at 15:00 from Shenzhen, stops at Xian at 17:20 and comes in Ordos at 19:00. The return flight from Ordos sets off at 19:40, with a minor stop at Xian at 20:40 and arrives in Shenzhen at 23:25.

Shanghai: The Ticket Price of 2010 Shanghai Expo Releases

News from Shanghai said that the ticket price of 2010 Shanghai Expo has been settled on July 31, 2007. The basic price of the ticket is CNY 160 but it will be changed according to different purchasing times and different visitors. Discount is also available for students, elders and group visitors.

Shanghai: Metro Line 2 to Extended to Pudong Int'l Airport

According to the Xinhua News Agency, Metro Line 2 of Shanghai has been under reconstruction as of July 25, 2007. The Line 2 will be extended to Pudong International Airport after the reconstruction, which is estimated to be finished in 2010, before the opening of Shanghai Expo.

More Beijing-Shanghai Direct Flights to Launch

News from China Eastern Airways said that more Beijing-Shanghai direct flights will be launched as of next month.  At that time, flights from both cities will set off from 08:00 to 21:00, every one hour.

Torch Festival of Yi People to Held in Sichuan

According to the Xinhua News Agency, the annual Torch Festival of Yi people will be held in Xichang City, Sichuan Province, as of this August. As the most important festival of Yi People, Torch Festival is also one of the top ten folk customs in China. During the three-day celebration, young men will play horse-racing, wrestling and other traditional games. Young girls will show their songs and dances and participate in their traditional beauty contest.
