CAAC to Open 27 International Air Routes

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced that 27 international air routes will be opened in 2008 and 2009.

In 2008, regular flights from Beijing to Berlin, Istanbul, Warsaw, Newark, and Seattle will be operated. Meanwhile, more air routes are to be opened from Guangzhou to Moscow, from Shanghai to Vienna, Hamburger, Zurich, and Los Angels.

In 2009, China will start flights shuttling from Beijing to Toronto, Washington, Manchester, Zurich, Dusseldorf, Vienna, Milan, Detroit, London, and Chicago. Flights will also be available from Guangzhou to Vancouver, from Shanghai to San Francisco, Rome, and Seattle.

In addition to these new routes, China Eastern Airlines plans to increase flights for the lines from Shanghai to New York, London, and Vancouver in 2008.

Jiuzhaigou: Strict Restriction on Admission to Launch in Golden Week

For a better tourist environment during the coming Golden Week (Oct. 1 to Oct. 7), Jiuzhaizhou Scenic Area, the most famous scenic area of Sichuan Province, will launch a strict restriction on admission from Oct. 2 to Oct. 5, 2007.
 
An online booking system was started as of Sep. 3, by which tourists can book 10,000 tickets each day (Oct. 2 to Oct. 5). Among these tickets, 3,000 tickets are special ones for those who want to enter the valley at peak time 08.30-09.00 and 09.00-09.30.

Shenzhen-Fuzhou-Osaka Shuttle Flight to Debut

News from Xinhua News Agency said that the Shenzhen Airlines will start a Shenzhen-Fuzhou-Osaka shuttle flight as of September 10, 2008. The flight, ZH9097/8, will fly off at 08:30 (Beijing Time) from Shenzhen every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arrive at Osaka, Japan at 14:25 (local time). The return flight will fly off at 15:25 (local time) and arrive at Shenzhen at 19:35 (Beijing Time).

Badaling and Juyongguan Great Wall to Closed This Weekend

For a better operation of Good Luck Beijing Road Cycling International Invitational Race, Badaling Great Wall, Badaling Safari Park, Juyongguan Great Wall and Ming Tombs will be closed to tourists on August 18 and 19, 2007.

Tibet Railway: Strict Restriction on Purchasing Tickets Settles

Due to the increasing numbers of the tourists, Lhasa Railway Station has already stopped group tickets selling and settled strict restriction on ticket purchasing. One should acquire a ticket-purchasing paper in the station plaza first and then queue to buy the tickets. Plus, one can only buy no more than two tickets.
