Forbidden City to Open One Hour Earlier During China National Day

Beijing Forbidden City will carry out new opening time, 07:30-17:00, from Oct. 1st to 3rd. Then, it will be open to visitors one hour earlier than usual.

Meanwhile, a temporary ticket window and entrance will be opened at the Donghua Gate; two temporary ticket buses will be added at the square outside Wumen (Meridian Gate); a mobile ticket bus will be also operated to offer visitors some convenience. Besides, all the doors and gates of the eastern and western palaces will be open to evacuate the crowd. When it is too crowded, the western side door of the Shenwu Men (Gate of Spiritual Valour) will only permit visitors to enter into the Imperial Garden, and the eastern side door of the gate will only allowed visitors to exit.

Beijing: Spanish Chivalry Culture and Art Exhibition to Opened in Forbidden City

As one of the important part of the 'Spanish Year' held in China, Spanish chivalry culture and art ---Treasure Display of the Madrid Royal Arsenal Museum will be open to the public on September 30th, 2007 at Wumen (Meridian Gate) of the Forbidden City, Beijing. This exhibition will last until January, 2008.

Then, 150 pieces (sets) of cultural relics will be displayed. This exhibition is divided into seven parts: Spanish and European Chivalry Ideal, Madrid Royal Arsenal Museum, Renaissant Art and Palace Lives, Weapons and Diplomatism, Hunting Activities Centralizing Entertainment and Military Training, Collection History from the Baroque's Flourishing Age to the Modern Times, Collection History about China and the Spanish Royal Family. Among them, treasures about the Renaissant Art and Palace Lives take up the majority part, containing 52 pieces (sets).

National Weather Forecast (October 1st to 7th)

China Central Meteorological Office reports that light rain or showers are expected in Northwest and North China during the Golden Week --- China National Day (October 1st - 7th), 2007.

Following are the weather conditions for parts of China

Northwest China, wet weather will last for the whole week in the east part; besides, cloudy weather and light to moderate rain are expected. In some areas of southeast Gansu Province and southwest Shaanxi Province, it will rain heavily, and the temperature will drop. Light or showers are expected from October 1st-3rd in the northern part of Xinjiang Province.

North China, in the coming week, the south central part will be mostly wet weather, light to moderate rain is expected, and the temperature will drop. From October 3rd-7th, the northern part will be cloudy and turn to clear; parts of the area will have light rain or showers.

Northeast China, from October 1st-3rd, most parts will be clear, and some areas of the southern part will be cloudy, even have light rain or showers. From October 4th-7th, the northern and eastern parts will have light rain or showers, and some parts will have moderate rain.

Central China, from October 1st-3rd, most parts will be clear to cloudy, and some areas of the northwestern part will have light rain or showers. From October 4th-5th, most parts will be clear, and some of the northern part will have showers. From October 6th-7th, the northern part will be cloudy; the south central part will have light to moderate rain or showers; some of the southern part will have heavy rain and storms.

East China, from October 1st-4th, most parts will be clear to cloudy, and some areas will have light rain or showers. On October 5th, the eastern and southern parts of Fujian and Shandong Provinces will have light rain, and some areas will have moderate rain. From October 6th-7th, the northern part will be sunny interval, no rain and clearing, and the central, southern and costal areas will have heavy rain and strong wind.

South China, from October 1st-4th, the central, southern, western and coastal areas will have light to moderate rain, and some areas will heavy rain and strong wind. From October 5th-7th, the eastern and southern coastal areas will have light to moderate rain, and some areas of the eastern part will have heavy rain or storms.

Southwest China, in the coming week, the eastern, southern, and southwestern parts of Tibet will be wet weather mostly; besides, light rain and showers are also expected. Some areas of Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces will have moderate to heavy rain.

Qingdao-Shanghai CRH Train to Operated

News from Xinhua News, Qingdao-Shanghai CRH (China Railway High-speed) Train is to be operated on September 29th, 2007. Shanghai-Qingdao CRH Train will also be opened the next day. Then, a single trip between the two cities will take about ten hours.

It's reported that there will be eight compartments for this CRH Train, among which two are first class, and six are second class. The first CRH Train will start at 10:37, on September 29th from Qingdao Sifang Train Station, pass through Weifang, Zibo, Jinan, Taishan, Fuliji, Bengbu, Nanjing, Wuxi, and finally arrive in Shanghai at 20:32. On September 30th, the returning Train will leave Shanghai at 07:43, and get to Sifang Train Station at 17:34.

By now, the ticket has been published. For a whole single trip, the ticket for the first class compartments is CNY 386 per person, and that for the second class compartments is CNY 309. Influenced by it, train schedules of Shifang-Tonghua trains, Langzhou-Sifang trains and Sifang-Fuzhou trains will be alternated.
