Beijing-Moscow New-type Int'l Trains to Operated

New-type comfortable luxurious trains will be put into use on Beijing-Moscow international long-distance railway as of December 28th, 2007.

The new-type trains are red outside with the characters Moscow-Beijing both in Chinese and Russian on the carriages. Inside the carriages are mainly brownish-yellow, dark blue and light white which feels natural and pleasant. All of the carriages are equipped with air-conditioning, vacuum biological catabolic toilets, electric outlets for computers, mobile phones and other electrical appliances, TV sets, DVD players and so on. There are refrigerators and micro-wave ovens at both ends of the carriages. Bathrooms are also available on the trains for passengers' convenience. Meanwhile, electric lifts and special carriages and washing rooms are equipped for the disabled.

There are four-person ordinary compartments, twin compartments, business compartments and VIP carriages. Every VIP carriage includes four twin compartments and a mini-bar. According to various needs, the compartments will be decorated into bedrooms attached with infants' rooms, offices and reception rooms and so on. In the future, there will be an access to broadband network in the trains.

With regard to the safety, the compartment doors of the trains adopt electronic numeral locks, and the passwords for all the compartments are totally different.

Harbin: Ticket Price for Three Main Scenic Areas of the Ice and Snow Festival Published

The ticket prices for the three main scenic areas of Harbin Ice and Snow Festival have been published: CNY 150 for the Ice and Snow World, CNY 120 for the Snow Expo and CNY 55 for the Ice Lantern Show. 

 the activities in the three scenic areas won't charge visitors any more. Meanwhile, Students, servicemen, teachers, old people, disabled people and tour groups will enjoy some preferential prices.

Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses to Exhibited in Henan Museum

A Special Exhibition for the 80th Anniversary of Henan Museum starts on December 7th, 2007. This exhibition will last until February 26th, 2008. During the activity, several pieces of Qin terra-cotta warriors and horses from Pit 1 of Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses will be exhibited.

Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: 8 Tickets per Applicant of the Second Phase Sale

For the second phase tickets sale of 2008 Olympic Games, BOCOG (Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of XXIX Olympiad) prescribed that every applicant can only buy eight tickets of two games and each one could only submit one order with his ID card.

From December 10th to 30th, applicants can submit their orders through the official tickets website of Beijing Olympic Games: www.tickets.beijing2008.cn, or they can go to the 1,000 appointed ticket outlets of China Bank to fill and submit the orders directly.

During the lot period, BOCOG will publicize the hot games according to the tickets sales to make sure that applicants can book the tickets effectively. After the lot, applicants can check the results through the official tickets website or the tickets call center (010-952008).

There will be more than 1,800,000 tickets for the second phase. It's predicted that all the tickets will be printed in June or July of 2008. The specific policy for tickets claim will be published before the distribution.

The corresponding seat number of every ticket will be determined as of March, 2008. In principle, the same-price tickets booked through one order for the same game will ensures an access to neighboring positions possibly, but there may be exceptions.

Tianjin: Subway Ticket to Reduced to CNY 2 for a Whole Trip

Along with Beijing, the subway ticket price in Tianjin will be reduced to CNY 2 for a whole trip as of December 16th, 2007. Then, Tianjin will sell new IC cards at the 22 stops of the Subway Line 1. The cards can be used both for taking buses and subways, and they can be recharged at subway stations and bus stations.
