It has gained a reputation as 'China Folk Culture Museum' and looks like a big garden where distinctive ethnic architectures are exhibited to great effect.

Let us choose one representative Dai minority among a total of 56 nationalities in China to show you how the folk culture is embodied in the villages. Two highlighting aspects - the minority's architecture and their special festivals & celebrations should attract your attention when you begin your visit. Here, in the China Folk Culture Village, we can find the distinctive architecture of the Dai minority group - the Bamboo Building. It has two floors - the first floor is often used to pile up the sundries and raise domestic animals, and the second floor is used as a living space with every Bamboo Building having the wooden ladder of nine steps. The special festival in the Dai minority is the Water-Splashing Festival where people use a basin to splash water whenever they meet someone. The water is regarded as lucky, beautifying water and people splash it to the top of their content. An interesting event when no one can escape being wet all over!

Meanwhile, the architecture of many other minorities and their special festivals are even more attractive. The Ship-like Cottage of the Li minority and the Wood or Bamboo Stilted House of the Wa minority recapture the characteristics of the old architectural culture. Arches (Paifang) Architecture of the Han nationality and Hutongs & Courtyards Dwelling in Beijing further represent the high level of Chinese traditional architectural design. Additionally, you can find the Stone Cottage of the Buyi minority, Mushroom-like Cottage of the Hani minority, Felt Cottage of the Kazakstan minority, Yurt of the Mongolia minority, Lamasery of the Tibetan minority, Hakka Enclosed House and other distinctive architecture in the village. You can join in with each of them one by one as you wish.

In addition, many well-known scenic spots from all over China can be found within the village such as the Stone Forest  in Yunnan, coconut grove in Hainan, one-thousand-hand Kwan-yin statue, Arches (Paifang) Architecture from Huizhou City in Anhui Province. Different styles of bridges can also be seen such as the Wooden Bridge of Yangzhou City, the Stone Bridge of Zhejiang Province, Vine Bridge of the Dulong minority and the Wind & Rain Bridge of the Dong minority.

In the village we can enjoy dance and song performances of different minorities and all are also most welcome to join in. We can also find many handicrafts in-the-making in some of the store fronts capturing so much local flavor.
