    Arrival in Bulgaria

    Upon arrival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, you will transfer to check in the hotel. The remaining day is free for you to have a rest at the hotel or get a brief view of the city.

    Sofia - Veliko Turnovo

    As a world renowned garden city, Sofia is a charming tourist resort with beautiful scenery. Today you will start your visit of the whole city with a tour to the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, a soviet style cathedral of the Orthodox Eastern Church. Then you will visit the St. Sofia Church, an early Christian architecture preserved till today. The city Sofia gains its name from the church. Next, you are going to tour the attractive Etara Museum. It is also one of the most popular scenic spots in Bulgaria. After the visit, you will head for Veliko Turnovo.

    The Hill of the Kings

    Today you are going to visit attractions in the ancient capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Your tour will include the Tsarevets Fortress, the Patriarchal Church, the Royal Palace and the Emperor Bolduin’s Tower. After that, you will go sightseeing in the town along the ancient trade streets. Later you will head for Lyaskovets to visit the horticulture museum. Meanwhile, you will also have the chance to enjoy the mellow local wine there. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the famous ancient village Arbanassi. Arbanassi used to be a residence of the Bulgaria kings and houses many churches and other splendid buildings. At last, you will return back to Veliko Turnovo.

    The morning tour will take you to the Rusenski Lom River Valley to appreciate the Rock Churches of Ivanovo. It is ranked as one of the world cultural heritages. Then you will head for Ruse, which is also reputed as “Mini Vienna.” It is the first city appeared in Bulgaria and functions as the main port of the country along the Danube. After arrival, you will visit places including the Monument of Liberty, the Pantheon of National Revival Heroes and the National Museum of Railway Transport.

    Shumen - Osmar - Varna

    Firstly you will head for Shumen to visit one of the world cultural heritages---the splendid Madara Horseman. Apart from the carvings of the horseman, there are also inscriptions on the cliff telling stories happened during the period from 705 A.D. to 813 A.D. Then you will proceed to Osmar and enjoy the delicious local food there. Besides, you can also taste Osmar’s famous wine. In the afternoon, you are going to visit the renowned natural scenic spot---the Stone Forest. At last, you will move forward to the beautiful Varna and have a short tour there.

    Varna - Balchik

    In the morning you will visit the ancient city Balchik, the third largest city in Bulgaria and reputed as “a white city.” There you will enjoy the charming sights of Generalife. It was once owned by the Romania Queen Maria and is acclaimed as “the quiet nest.” Then you will tour the second largest botanical garden in Europe. The last two sites you are going to visit today are the Kaliakra Cape and medieval fortress. For the rest of the time, you can relax yourselves along the beautiful coasts.

    You will head for South Black Seaside in the morning and visit the ancient town of Nessebar. As one of the world cultural heritages, the ancient Nessebar houses over forty churches dated back to different periods. The buildings and streets in the town are full of profound mediaeval flavor. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Ropotamo Reserve, which is one of the most exotic scenic spots in Bulgaria along the coasts of the Black Sea. You will also sail into the Ropotamo River where you can find a variety of wildlife during the tour. It is truly a paradise for shutterbugs.

    Valley of the Roses

    Today you will drive to visit Kazanlak, the capital of the Valley of the Roses. It is abundant in Damascus Roses. There you will pay a visit to the Rose Museum as well as the Thracian Kazanlak Tomb, which can be dated back to 4th century BC and has been listed as one of the world cultural heritages. In the afternoon, you will head for Plovdiv.

    Today you are going to visit Plovdiv, the second biggest city in Bulgaria. Plovdiv was first built in 4th century AD and you will first pay a visit to the spots in the old part of the city such as the Ethnographic Museum, the St. Constantine Church, the Elena Church, the Antique Theatre and the Roman Stadium. Then you will visit the Bachkovo Monastery, the second largest monastery in Bulgaria built in the 11th century.

    Rila Monastery

    Today, you will tour the Rila Monastery, the largest monastery in Bulgaria. It was first built in the 10th century and inscribed in the world cultural heritage list. The monastery is tightly arranged and featured as a medieval castle style. It is not only a famous tourist resort in Bulgaria, but also the “national spirit pillar” of the Bulgarian people. After the visit, you will transfer back to Sofia.

    Departure from Bulgaria

    The whole morning is free for you. In the afternoon, you will go to the airport by bus according to your international flight schedule and take a flight leaving from Bulgaria.
