    Arrival in Paro - Thimphu

    After your arrival at the Paro International Airport, our guide will take you to Paro Dzong and your private Bhutan tour starts at that moment. Paro Dzong, also called Rinpung Dzong, is the most famous Buddhist temple in Bhutan as well as the location of local government. Later, our guide will escort you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and get settled in the hotel. Then you can arrange your activities freely.

    Thimphu

    You are arranged to visit Tango Monastery in the morning. It was built in the 13th century. You can see caves where ancient saints did meditation in this monastery. It acts as the most important religious school and retreat center in Bhutan. More than 200 students study Buddhism here. After having a picnic, we will continue our tour to another Buddhist temple, Cheri Monastery which is located on the opposite mountain of Tango Monastery.

    Thimphu - Punakha

    You will be transferred to Punakha after breakfast. En route, we will stop by the Dochula Pass where you can appreciate 108 splendid stupas. If it is a sunny day, you can admire the beautiful scenery of Himalaya at a distance. After a break, we will continue our trip to Punakha. Upon arrival, our guide will help you check in the hotel. Later, you will be escorted to Punakha Dzong. There are numerous Buddhist scriptures and portraits of Buddhist masters in this castle. It was the residence of sovereigns before 1950, and serves as the winter palace of Je Khenpo now.

    Punakha - Gangtey

    Today's private Bhutan tour will start with a suspension bridge near Punakha Dzong. Then we will hike to the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, a unique pagoda in the world. It worships different statues of Buddha on each layer. Moreover, the detailed design of this building refers to Buddhist scriptures instead of technological books. Then our guide will lead you to Lobesa to start a trek to Chimi Lhakhang. En route, we will go through a paddy field to enjoy the peaceful rural landscape. After that, our driver will send you to Gangtey and then check in the hotel.

    Gangtey - Paro

    Phobjikha Valley is a broad U-shaped glacial-carved valley, which is renowned for its idyllic scenery, impressive marshland, as well as black-necked cranes. Gangtey Monastery, located on the highland of the valley, is the only Nyingma site in Bhutan. Our guide will take you to appreciate Tibetan Buddhism murals in the temple. Later, the guide will accompany you to take a walk along the Gangtey Nature Trail to Khewa Lhakhang. En route, you can experience the local life in the Semchubara Village. At last, you will be sent back to Paro.

    Paro

    Today's private Bhutan tour starts with the Paro Taktshang. It is said to be the place for Indian Master Guru Rinpoch to meditate in the 8th century. It is worth mentioning that beautiful landscape of the Paro Valley will fully come into your sight when you look out on the balcony. Afterwards, our drive will send you to Drukgyel Dzong surrounded by terraces. You can also pay a visit to a local farm house in Drukgyel Village. Later, the guide will lead you to the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.

    Paro - Chele La Pass - Paro

    In the morning, you will be taken to the Chele La Pass where colorful prayer flags can be found on the ridge. Then start a trek along the main road to Kila Gompa Nunnery which was built in the 9th century. It features the beautiful scenery of the Paro Valley and its difficult location on the cliff. After that, the guide will escort you back to Paro.

    Departure from Paro
