    Arrival in Paro - Thimphu

    Upon landing at Paro Airport, you will meet your guide outside the customs. After a warm greeting, you will be transferred to the hotel of Thimphu by a comfortable drive. Along the way, we will pass by the Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge. Then check in the hotel and have some rest. The arrangement for the remainder of the day is totally up to you. You can stroll around the nearby streets and get familiar with the surroundings.

    2
    Thimphu

    Toady you will begin your Thimphu private tour with the National Library. Founded in 1967, it was built to preserve ancient historical literature about the development of local religions and culture. Then we will reach the Folk Heritage Museum, which is set in a traditional folk house with some rare royal antiques and household equipments on display. You will have a better understanding of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle through viewing those collections. The next spot we will visit is National Memorial Chorten. The monument is also a pagoda housing a lot of religious paintings and divine Buddhas.

    In the afternoon, proceed to the Buddha Dordenma Statue, the best place to overlook the whole city of Thimphu. After that, we will pay a visit to the Thimphu Dzong which is not only the most famous Buddhist temple but also the government center of Bhutan.

    Thimphu - Gangtey

    After breakfast, our guide will pick you up and transfer you to Gangtey. En route, we will make a stop at Dochula Pass with an altitude of 10,300 feet (3,139 meters), and you can see 108 grand stupas there. If it's sunny, you will appreciate the magnificent Himalaya from a distance.

    Upon arrival, you will have a relaxing time at Gangtey for the rest of the day. If interested, you are suggested to stroll around the Gangtey Valley and visit the Gangtey Monastery.

    4
    Gangtey - Trongsa - Bumthang (By Car, 200 Km, Approx. 7 Hrs)

    In the morning, we will depart from Gangtey and continue our Bhuta private tour to Bumthang. Along the way, we will pass by the Pele La Pass and pay a visit to Chendebji Chorten, a typical Nepal-style Buddhist stupa. Afterwards, stop at Trongsa for lunch and then visit Trongsa Dzong. Among the outstanding buildings in Bhutan, it's considered a large-scale masterpiece built in the early 17th century. It is not only a castle but also a Buddhist temple to hold political and religious activities. Then we will set out to Bumthang and have a view of the Yotong La Pass on the ride. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and get some rest.

    Bumthang

    After breakfast, you will be driven to Kurje Lhakhang, which was built in memory of the great Indian monk Padmasambhava. Then our guide will lead you to Jambay Lhakhang to admire the two-story-high magnificent Jambay Buddha. We will then stop by Tamshing Lhakhang and Jakar Dzong. After that you will be led to stroll in a village to experience the local handicrafts making process and get a close contact with the local people. Then hike to the Lhodrak Kharchhu Monaster, where you can have a deep understanding of Tibetan Buddhism.

    Bumthang - Punakha

    This morning our guide will escort you to Punakha, the old capital city of Bhutan. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and have a little rest. Then our guide will lead you to the Punakha Dzong. Before 1950, Punakha was always the political center and the location of the national government of Bhutan, built as the second castle by the country's founder. Regarded as one of the prettiest temples in Bhutan, the Punakha Dzong collects a large number of Buddhist scriptures, religious paintings, and vivid religious celebrity's portraits.

    Punakha - Paro (By Car, 125 Km, Approx. 4 Hrs)

    Today, we will depart Punakha for Paro by a four-hour car ride. A short drive later, we will get off the car and trek through the rice fields and villages to the Chimi Lakhang. Known as the fertility temple, it attracts a lot of childless people to pray for God’s help. After that, we will drive to Paro via Dochula Pass, and stop at Simtokha Dzong. After check in the hotel, we will visit Paro Dzong which is regarded as a representative of Bhutanese religious buildings, as well as the Ta Dzong, also known as the National Museum of Bhutan.

    Paro

    After breakfast, today's private Bhutan tour will begin with the exquisite and sacred Taktsang Goempa, leaning against a steep cliff at an elevation of 10,200 feet (3,109 meters). Afterwards, you will be guided to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong to view the spectacular natural scenery and the Kyichu Lhakhang which is located alongside the Paro valley.

    In the evening, you are free to walk around the nearby streets and markets in Paro.

    Departure from Paro
