6 Days Trip of Vietnam and Cambodia: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - Angkor Wat
Day 01: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive in Ho Chi Ming City by plane, formerly Saigon, the largest city and economic center of Vietnam. Then you will be transferred to check in the hotel and have a good rest to recover from the jet lag.
Day 02: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, head for My Tho at Mekong Delta, where you will have a boat trip on the Mekong River and visit the famous Fruit Island orchard. In the orchard, you can enjoy the fruit feast, sing and dance shows and the orchard sight-seeing. After the local characteristic lunch in My Tho, you may purchase some souvenirs in speciality shops on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City. In the evening, you will visit the Saigon River to enjoy dinner and appreciate the marvelous performances and beautiful night scene on ship.
Day 03: Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap
The morning tour will take you to visit the tourist sights in Ho Chi Minh City such as the City Hall and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Cathedral, also named the Red Cathedral because of its red appearance, is the landmark of Ho Chi Minh City. Then you will go to the important historic places—the Reunification Palace and the Vietnam History Museum. After that, you will fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Day 04: Siem Reap
After breakfast, you will visit the Angkor Wat, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Firstly, you will go to visit the Angkor Thom, which has five gates with the statues of Buddha that is called Khmer’s Smile carved on four sides of each gate. Then, proceed to the Bayon Temple, which is a big pagoda consisting of 54 pagodas of different sizes, and visit the Terrace of the Elephants. Later, you will move to visit the Ta Prohm Temple, the location for the film Tomb Raider I. At last, pay a visit to the Angkor Wat and enjoy the sunset there.
Day 05: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh
In the morning, you will transfer to Phnom Penh by bus. The first stop is the Silver Pagoda which is constructed in traditional Khmer way but decorated in typical Siam style. Passing the Shrouy Changvar Bridge, the bridge in film The Killing Fields, you will get to the dock to take a cruise on the Mekong River. There you will experience the Cambodian simple life—all the activities of human society are conducted on the river. This nature Cambodian life style perfectly shows the intimacy between human and nature. Have dinner after the visit, and then go back to the hotel.
Day 06: Phnom Penh - Departure from Cambodia
After breakfast, you will visit the Independence Monument which symbolizes the history of Khmer’s struggles for independence. Then proceed to visit the Wat Phnom (Temple of the Mountain or Mountain Pagoda), it is the landmark and birthplace of Phnom Penh. From the top of pagoda, you can have a bird’s view of Phnom Penh city. The rest of the day is free at your leisure time. You may experience the street life of Phnom Penh or purchase some souvenirs for your family and friends. After dinner, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight leaving Cambodia, drawing a satisfactory conclusion to the Vietnam and Cambodia tour.
