8 Days Trip of Rwanda: Kigali - Nyungwe Forest National Park - Lake Kivu - Volcanoes national park - Mountain Gorilla
Departure: Daily
Day 01: Arrival in Rwanda
You will fly to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, and then check in a hotel. Kigali, a summer resort with fine weather all year round, has fascinating landscape sceneries and a beautiful view. Then you will have a tour of the downtown area to visit local markets, museums, genocide memorial cite and handicraft stores one by one. Return to the hotel after visit.
Day 02: Kigali - Nyungwe Forest National Park
This morning, you will head southward to Nyungwe Forest National Park by bus. On the way you will visit reconstruction King’s Palace near Nyanza, Butare Museum and Murambi Genocide Memorial. Then continue the journey to Nyungwe.
Day 03: Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will start your journey of Forest National Park in the early morning. You can see many wild animals such as chimpanzee, colobus monkeys and many other birds, butterflies and insects in the park.
Day 04: Nyungwe Forest National Park
Today we will have the Canopy Walk in the park. You can climb to 50-meter high and 90-meter high canopy to overlook this forest on the top, which is definitely a memorable experience for you. In the afternoon you will be entertained by Banyarwanda and you will also have a chance to study their culture.
Day 05: Lake Kivu
Take a bus to visit Lake Kivu in Kibuye in the morning. You can watch the beautiful view either on the side or by boat. Lake Kivu is the highest lake in the central Africa and one of the biggest lakes in Africa. The water of the lake is divided into clear and stable levels from the bottom upward. The lower level near the bottom, the degree of mineralization and the density is higher. The lake water is completely at a standstill from 250-meter deep.
Day 06: Volcanoes national park
The morning tour will take you to visit the Volcanoes national park. Upon arrival, you will be arranged to observe golden monkeys and then visit the Dian Fossey’s grave. If time permits, you can also see some primates playing on the trees. In the afternoon, you will pay a visit to the Dian Fossey’s Karisoke research centre to know her working condition and her grave as well as the history of the gorilla.
Day 07: Mountain Gorilla
Today, you will take a tour in Mountain Gorilla. Since there are lots of hiking during the tour, you will be provided equipment to climb the Mountain Gorilla. It will take about four to six hours to go across steep area and thick forest. On the way you can also see many plants and animals including the gorillas. After the visit you will return to the hotel.
Day 08: Departure from Rwanda
Transfer back to Kigali in the morning. Then you will go to the airport and depart from Rwanda by plane.
