17 Days Trip of New Zealand: Auckland - Paihia - Rotorua - Napier - Masterton - Wellington - Picton - Blenheim - Kaikoura - Christchurch - Twizel - Dunedin - Te Anau - Queenstown - Fox Glacier - Franz Josef

Departure: Daily

 Day 01: Arrival in Auckland
You will arrive in Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand by international flight. Upon arrival, you will check in a hotel and rest to adjust the time difference.

 Day 02: Auckland - Paihia
Today, you will head to the tree-lined Parry Kauri Park to visit the fir museum in Matakohe and listen to a comprehensive guide explain. After passing through a sub-tropical-style coastal city Whangarei, you will arrive at the home of indigenous people--Paihia, locating in New Zealand's North Island. Then you are going to visit the Waitangi Treaty House – the signing place of Treaty of Waitangi and the founding basis of New Zealand. This Treaty was signed by the British royal family and the Maoris in 1840, to promote New Zealand to establish a British legal system, and to confirm Maori’s ownership of land and culture. 

 Day 03: Paihia - Auckland
In the morning, you will go to visit Cape Brett and Hole in the Rock by luxury catamaran. After that, go back to Auckland.

 Day 04: Auckland - Rotorua
The morning tour will take you to visit New Zealand's landmark - the Sky Tower, which is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. At the 190-meter height, the tower has multi-storey observation deck and high-powered telescope, which is convenient for visitors to enjoy panoramic views of Auckland. Every year, about 100 million visitors travel here. Then, passing through a beautiful village, you will head to Longlands Dairy Farm, where you can visit bucolic local families and enjoy local meals. At last, you will go to Rotorua to visit the world famous Paradise Valley Springs--the conservation field for New Zealand snakehead fish, enjoying New Zealand's pure natural environment.

 Day 05: Rotorua
Today, you will take Gondola (a unique Venetian tip boat) to the Cableway Restaurant for breakfast. During the way, you can enjoy the beautiful local scenery. Then go to visit the Agrodome Pasture, watching sheep shearing Show, shepherd dog training, milking, feeding lambs, wool auction and so on. You will also have some free time to enjoy the magnificent countryside beauty and Rotorua Lake. Then you will go to watch the famous Rotorua boiling mud pools and the awesome geysers. The evening’s delight will be the unique Maori Hangi and Concert. 

 Day 06: Rotorua - Napier – Masterton
This morning, you will leave Rotorua for Huka Falls and Lake Taupo along the Thermal Explorer Highway. Then you are going to visit the "Art Deco Capital of the World" – Napier. Napier was razed to the ground by earthquake and fire in 1931, and later was rebuilt by popular Art Deco style. After that, you are scheduled to visit Wairarapa, which is famous for pinot noirs and sauvignon blancs. Wairarapa, a beautiful quaint historic town, has vast vineyards, apple orchards, lavender garden, olive groves and heritage museums.

 Day 07: Masterton - Greytown – Wellington
Today, you will go to quaint historic town--Carterton and Greytown, visit the home of fine wines and olive groves - Martinborough, the Pinot Noir wines and delicious meal here will make your mood bright and clear. Travel through the scenic Rimutaka Hill, you will head for the capital of New Zealand - Wellington. 

 Day 08: Wellington - Picton - Blenheim   
The whole morning is free on your own. Here are some recommendations: you can go to visit New Zealand's National Museum, Parliament Buildings. In the afternoon, by way of Cook Strait and Marlborough Sounds, you will get to Picton by Interislander Ferry. Then you can take bus to go to Blenheim for sightseeing. 

 Day 09: Blenheim - Kaikoura - Christchurch   
When passing Martinborough village, which is famous for its food and wine, you will visit the beautiful fishing village--Kaikoura. Then proceed to visit the garden city– Christchurch, where you can enjoy the unique architectural style of this city, rich culture, beautiful scenery and picturesque Avon River.
