8 Days Journey of New Zealand: Auckland - Rotorua - Christchurch - Queenstown – Christchurch
Departure: Daily
Day 01: Arrival in Auckland
Upon arrival at Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, you will climb to the top of Mt Eden, one of the most famous landmarks in Auckland and get a panoramic view of the city and its two largest harbors from the summit. Then you will visit the Queen Street and the famous Du Vin Wine Shop.
Day 02: Auckland - Waitomo Cave - Rotorua
Today, you will head for one of the Seven Wonders of the World - Waitomo Cave to see the thousands of stunning glowworms over your head. In the evening you will drive to Te Puia culture village in Rotorua and enjoy a night of traditional Maori culture.
Day 03: Rotorua - Taupo - Rotorua
You will transfer to Taupo and visit Huka Prawn Park which is the only prawn farm using geothermal waste heat in the world. In the afternoon you will proceed to the New Zealand’s largest leisure park - The Agrodome Leisure Park and enjoy the exhilarating show of sheep shearing, feeding lambs and sheep demonstration by sheepdogs, etc. Then the next stop is Rotorua Museum where you will experience the fantastic cultural legacy of Maori. In the evening you can enjoy a comfortable spa in Polynesia SPA, which is one of the top ten spas.
Day 04: Rotorua – Christchurch
In the morning, you will take the Skyline to the top of mountain and have a full view of Rotorua, overlooking the enchanting scenery of surrounding lakes and mountains and have the chance to experience the exciting luge. At noon, you will fly to the biggest island - Christchurch. Roam in the ancient buildings of 19th century, you will be totally immersed in the English-styled romance.
Day 05: Christchurch - Lake Tekapo
Today you will continue your journey by a drive to Lake Tekapo which is known as the most beautiful lake in the south island of New Zealand. Originally the lake is an undeveloped glacier and the finely ground rock in the glacial melted water give the lake a beautifully unique turquoise color. The Church of the Good Shepherd nearby is also a worth-visiting resort.
Day 06: Lake Tekapo - Cromwell – Queenstown
Reach Queenstown through Cromwell, you will be impressed with the Lake Waktipu. Combined with the surrounding unparalleled beautiful scenery and climate, Lake Waktipu is undoubtedly the stunningly beautiful site in Queenstown. The Skyline Gondola takes you to the highest point of Queenstown - Bob’s Peak where you can experience the beauty of this majestic landscape while enjoying a romantic western buffet in its restaurant.
Day 07: Queenstown
Today you will spend a full day trekking around Queenstown. First you will transfer to the fantastic Te Anau which affords you plentiful opportunities to take photos. The trek will take you from Te Anau into Fiordland National Park after passing beech forests and splendid mountains, going through Homer Tunnel and to Milford Sound. A yacht will continue the trip and take you enjoy the gorgeous view of Milford Sound. Past the Mitre Peak, the yacht will head to the Tasman Sea where you will be spellbound by the Stirling and Bowen Falls. After the trip, you will go back to Queenstown.
Day 08: Queenstown - Departure from Christchurch
Transfer back to Christchurch in the morning. Then you will go to the airport for your homebound international flight.
