10 Days Adventure of Namibia: Windhoek - Otjiwarongo - Kamanjab area - Kunene River - Himba Villages - Opuwo - Wilderness areas - Hoaruseb River - Purros - Giribes Plains - Sesfontein - Palmwag - Twyfelfontein - Damaraland - Damara villages - Brandberg
Departure: Daily
Day 01: Arrival in Namibia
Upon arrival in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, you will drive north to Kamanjab area by way of Otjiwarongo. In the evening, you will check in the resort in Kamanjab area.
Day 02: Kunene River - Himba Village
Take a ride to see Kunene River and Ruacana Falls. After that, you will travel to Kunene resort along the river. Today you are going to visit several rural villages which offer opportunities for you to get close contact with the local people and have more knowledge about their live and culture.
Day 03 & Day 04: Opuwo - Himba Tribe - Wilderness Areas
First, you will start from Kunene and go south to Opuwo. And then travel westward to Orupembe which is known for its open area by way of Kaoko Otavi. Scenery here is extremely magnificent and there are Hhimba Villages in Wilderness areas. You will spend the two days exploring this area and experiencing the landscape of northwest Nambia. Next, you will proceed to visit the Skeleton Coast Park.
Day 05 & Day 06: Hoaruseb River - Purros - Himba Tribe
Travel southward to the campsite near Hoaruseb River in Purros. If you are lucky enough, you will have an opportunity to see desert elephant and other wild animals such as jump antelope, ostrich, antelope, zebra, etc. After that, you are going to visit Himba village and Herero village.
Day 07: Giribes Plains - Sesfontein - Palmwag
Today, you will drive eastward to Giribes Plains during which you will see a crowd of jump antelope, giraffe and other wild animals. Then, you will move forward to Sesfontein, and finally arrive in Palmwag resort which is an oasis in desert in Uniab River area in the northwest of Damaraland. There are palm leaves weaving with wind and haven near it for desert elephants, giraffes, zebras, etc.
Day 08: Twyfelfontein
Drive southward to go across mountain ranges and sand dune to arrive in the central part of Damaraland. This district is strictly a desert, but also a homeland for various kinds of desert animals. You can see lots of wild animals there. After that, you are going to visit Twyfelfontein where there are most ancient rock carvings in the world with about 2000 in total. It was enrolled in World Heritage Sites in 2007 thus it becomes the first world cultural heritage in Namibia by the UNESCO. As the biggest rock carvings camp, there are more than 2000 pictures recorded till now most of which are well kept carvings of rhinoceros, elephants, ostriches, giraffes, and footprints of humans and animals.
Day 09: Damaraland - Damara villages - Brandberg
Today is an excursion tour of Namibia. You will go across some fluctuant road and arrive at the coast of the dry Ugab Riverbed. In the afternoon, you will tour around Brandberg Mountain, and then go hiking to see the paintings of Lady Bushman.
Day 10: Windhoek - Departure from Namibia
Go back to Windhoek in the morning. During the trip, you will visit the famous Spitzkoppe where you will be fascinated by the astonishing natural scenery. After arriving in Windhoek around noon, you will go to the airport and leave Namibia by air.
