Day 01:Arrival in Myanmar
Upon arrival in Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar in the early morning, you will directly visit the Chaukhtutgyi Pagoda which has a huge sleeping Buddha, and then you will stroll around the Karaweik Royal floating barge. Before sunset, you will pay a visit to the most sacred pagoda in Myanmar - Shwedagon Pagoda and enjoy the gorgeous sunset here.
Day 02: Yangon - Bago
Today’s tour will take you to Bago. On the way, you will visit the Shwenyaungbin Spirit house and Htaukkyant War Cemetery. After that, proceed to visit the market in Hleku to experience the life of local people. Then you will continue to visit the Shwethahlaung Reclining Buddha Image in Kyaikpon. The next scenic spot is the Buddhist center of the Lower Myanmar - the Shwemawdaw pagoda, whose temples are much higher than Shwedagon Pagoda. You can find many monks study Buddhist sutras here everyday. At last, you will visit the Hinthagone Pagoda and appreciate the beautiful sunset scenery there.
Day 03: Bago - Taungoo
First you will go to Moeinkyi Bird Centuary to see the ducks. Then move to visit the Baina village to learn about the cultivating process of vegetables and fruits, you can also purchase some fresh fruits here. After that, you will visit the relics left by Indian farmers during England’s colonial period in Thuhtaykon village. As the largest Indian habitation county in Myanmar, there are many Indian descendants settled in Zeyawaddy. Their ancestors once have been taken here and forced to reclaim the wild land. Today’s tour will conclude when you arrive in Taungoo.
Day 04: Forest Adventure
In the morning, you will drive to Myanmar’s forest, where you can see a great number of elephants and the production situation of teak. You can go to the training ground of the elephants to see their training process and how they work after training. Then you will head for Shwetaung Ngwetaung Karen village to visit the houses of Karen people and maybe live with them to experience their daily life.
Day 05: Karen village - Kalaw
Drive to Kalaw in the morning. You will watch the production process of Burmese Cheroot in Tatkone. At the same time, you will also get to know the daily productive operations of the village community in Yamethin. Then you will walk to Meikhtila Lake to enjoy the enchanting scenery there. After that, you will continue the tour to the Yinmarbin village to visit the local people and watch their teak furniture craftsmanship. You will arrive in Kalaw at nightfall.
Day 06: Pindaya
Today, you will transfer to Pindaya by bus. Then you will walk to visit two villages in Danu tribes. After that, proceed to visit the Palaung village, where you can know how the minority groups live in Myanmar. Lunch will also be arranged in this village. The third destination is Line Inn village, you will pay a visit to the ethnic minority families and get a panoramic view of the whole area on the top of Pawtawmu hill. Before returning to Pindaya, you will finally visit the Taungpawgyi Danu village.
Day 07: Pindaya - Inle Lake
Today, you will first visit the Pindaya cave which is carved thousands of splendid Buddha statues in the wall. Next you will travel to the Ngetpyawtaw village to learn about the craftsmanship of bamboo umbrella and you can purchase one as souvenir if you like. Then you will visit the Yechansin village to see the making process of bamboo hat. Finally you will pay a visit to Pao village to experience the life there.
Day 08: Inle Lake
Today you will appreciate the beautiful scenery of the Inle Lake thoroughly by boat. This tour provides you a good chance to know more about the real life of the local fishermen. You can go to the floating market and visit the magical Phaungdawoo Pagoda on the artificial island at the center of the lake. Inside the pagoda shrine five sparkling Buddhist statues covered with gold leaves all over their bodies by fervent believers, turning them into round statues whose appearance can’t be seen clearly. Many believers flock to this venerated site to pay respect to the sacred Buddha in want of their blessings. Later, you will visit the floating village to experience the daily life of Intha people. After that you will pay a visit to some villages to learn the shipbuilding craftsmanship. At last, you will go to Ngahpechaung Monastery to see the cat which can leap after training
Day 09: Pao village and Danu village
You will visit many villages today, where mainly live people in Pao and Danu minorities. You will get to know their daily life in these remote villages. Then proceed to visit the Htine village sitting on the top of the mountain, from which you can get a comprehensive and impressive view of the whole Inle Lake. The Katku Pagoda will be your last destination today.
Day 10: Kalaw - Mandalay
After breakfast, you will leave Shwenyaung for Kalaw by train. Upon arrival, you will take a bus to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. During the trip, a stay in temples or villages will help you to know more about the life of the monks and villagers there. If you are lucky, you may attend some festivals held by villagers, which is a good chance to know the local customs.
