7 Days In-depth Trip of Cambodia: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - Angkor Wat
Day 01: Arrival in Phnom Penh
Welcome to Phnom Penh! Upon arrival, you will begin the fabulous tours by bus. The scenic spots you will visit in turn are Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Museum of Khmer Arts. Royal Palace, where King Xikenuke once lived, looks very grand and splendid. Silver Pagoda followed the traditional Khmer architecture style, but decorated in rich Siam flavor. The first two sights are must-to-visit places when you are in Phnom Penh. In the late afternoon, we will arrange you to visit two notorious sites - Choeung Ek Killing Field and Toul Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crime. There you can witness the terror zones under the ruling of Khmer Rouge Party. On the way back to your hotel, you may visit the Wat Phnoma as well.
Day 02: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
After breakfast, you will go to Siam Reap by speedboat, which will take you about 5 hours. On the way, you can appreciate Cambodia’s idyllic scenery and local people’s life. After arriving at Siem Reap, you can have a short rest at hotel. Then, we are going to visit several Cambodian temples, a scenic spot noted as Roluos Group. Among those sites, you will have a chance to admire the charm of Prasat Preah Ko, Bakong and Lo Lei.
Day 03: Angkor Wat
Get up early in the morning to catch the fantastic sunrise! Then return to enjoy the breakfast. After that, we will go to explore the South Gate of Angkor Thom first. The landscape in front of the Gate is very well preserved, many gods and statue of Evil God Ashura pulling the body of Snake God Naga to stir the milk sea are standing on two sides of the road in front of the gate and there are 54 statues at each side. The rest of morning time will be spent at Bayon Temple, Baphuon, Terrace of the Elephants and Leper King, etc. In the afternoon, you will visit the world-famous Angkor Wat. It is the best preserved site among those Angkor relics as well as the largest temple of the world. Right at nightfall, you will ride to Phnom Bakheng and appreciate the sunset.
Day 04:Angkor Wat
Today, you will continue you tour in Angkor - spend this whole day in Angkor Thom and then Angkor Wat. In Angkor Thom you are going to know more about temples, namely Prasat Kravan, East Mebon, Pre Rup and Preah Kan. Then during the trip to Angkor Wat, you will appreciate those ancient beauties-Banteay Kdei, Srah Srang, Ta Prohm, Ta keo, Thommanon and Chausay Tevoda. After a full day sightseeing, you are sure to have a detailed knowledge of Angkor Wat!
Day 05: Angkor Wat
After breakfast, you will drive to the Banteay Srei, reputed as “Jewel in Angkor Art”, and Banteay Samre. Banteay Srei, also called “Queen Palace”, is noted for red sandstone and delicate stone carving art. It ranks the finest among all the stone carving works in Angkor, or more of the most excellence of Cambodia. Though smaller than Banteay Srei, Banteay Samre still remains in good condition and presents you a clear view of its architecture composition. Late in the afternoon, you will move to the Tasom, Krol Ko and Neak Poan. Then drive back to the hotel after the trip end.
Day 06:Angkor Wat - Western Baray - Tonle Sap
Today’s tour will take you to enjoy the charming well-known scenery in Cambodia. You will visit the Preah Pithu Group, Preah Palilay, West Mebon in order. In the afternoon, you will go to visit the local villages to learn more about local people’s life. At last, you will have a sightseeing on the world’s biggest inland freshwater lake-Tonle Sap Lake by boat and appreciate the fantastic landscapes along the lake.
Day 07: Departure from Cambodia
The whole morning is free for you after breakfast. Visitors can make good use of this time to do some shopping. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport and take a flight flying back home.
