Day by Day Itinerary

Forbbiden City, Beijing

Day 01 - Entry Beijing
After your international (domestic flight) lands, our guide are ready to give you a zealous welcome at the exit of the luggage claiming area. Checking in the 4-star Holiday Inn Central Plaza Hotel - the best Holiday Inn Hotel in Beijing. The rest day is free for you.
Day 02 - Beijing
In the morning, you will have a brief introduction before you start your sightseeing formally. After that, you will start with the grand Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City. Regardless of how much history you have read, or movies featuring the Forbidden City you have seen, the palace itself is not to be missed by any Beijing visitor. After a la carte lunch at a local restaurant, go on to excurse the Temple of Heaven, which was built specifically for the worship of heaven and prayers for good harvests during the time of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Every tourist who has been to the Temple of Heaven is impressed by two amazing acoustical spots. Now it is your turn to discover the mystery here. After you finish sightseeing today, the Peking Roast Duck with a high popularity will be served at the famous Quanjude restaurant. After dinner, you will enjoy an enlightened Chinese Kungfu Show at Red Theatre. (B, L, D).

Day 03 - Beijing
Today you will be transferred to the Great Wall - Badaling Section. As the best place to view the majestic Great Wall, Badaling is well-known throughout the world. Cols, passes and beacon towers distributed along the wall of thousands of miles long, are full of immense artistic charm from a modern perspective. At noon, you will have a chance to taste food of Sichuan style at a local select restaurant. In the afternoon, after you go through the Sacred Road, start to explore the Dingling, which is currently the only one being opened up in the thirteen Ming Tomb. The whole day tour will come to end after seeing the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) afar on the way back, you may take some pictures for few minutes if you like. (B, L)

Day 04 - Beijing/ Xian

Visit the Summer Palace, which was called "Garden of Clear Ripples" or "Qingyi Yuan" in the past, was first built in 1750. In the late Qing Dynasty, this Palace became the most important political and diplomatic center besides the Forbidden City. Having a landscape as a garden, Summer Palace also witnessed the last Feudal Dynasty's vicissitudes. After that, you will be amused by the cute giant pandas in the Beijing Zoo. Probably you can also see the specific species from your country. At noon, we will arrange you an a la carte lunch at a popular local restaurant. Say goodbye to this capital by flying to Xian. After your plane lands, our guide in Xian will meet you and offer you a ride to the 4-star Grand New World Hotel. (B, L)

Day 05 - Xian
In the morning, the famed Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is your first stop. Discovered in 1974, this is a treasure house of China's ancient art. It is a perfect refection of the highest achievements of metallurgical technology of Qin Dynasty. After viewing this majestic museum, enjoy your a la carte lunch at a local nice restaurant. Continue with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque in the afternoon. You will call it a day after being treated by a Dumpling Banquet and a wonderful Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. Day 06 - Xian/ Shanghai
Start with the City Wall today, This City Wall has a long history of more than 600 years. Along the lateral wall, the "City Park" has been built up to become the best place for the urban residents to do morning exercise. When finishing your a la carte lunch, you will take a flight to Shanghai, which is the largest city in China. You will also receive a friendly welcome from your Shanghai guide upon your arrival. Check in at the 5-star Howard Johnson Business Club Hotel. (B+L)

Day 07 - Shanghai
Today Shanghai Museum is your first stop. As a large museum of ancient Chinese works of art, it has a collection of more than 120,000 precious cultural relics. Among them, the bronzes, ceramics, works of calligraphy and paintings are the most famous at home and abroad. A highlight is the cultural relics of ethnic minorities reflecting the museum's open minded and forward-looking vision and pursuit. When you finish the tour in Shanghai Museum and step into the Yuyuan Garden, you will be fascinated immediately by the poetic imagery of garden of southern Yangtze River delta. Now the garden is divided into six parts and each of them has distinct scenery. A luxurious a la carte lunch will be arranged for you today. In the afternoon, you have some free time to stroll along the Bund, the Nanjing Road and then visit an old cultural street in Shanghai. (B, L)

Day 08 - Exit Shanghai
Today you will board the flight home by yourselves. Alternatively, our tour operators are very glad to arrange you the private extension tour according to your requirement. (B)
Tips:
In Shanghai there are two airports: Hongqiao Airport (SHA) and Pudong Airport (PVG). Please make sure you will go to the right one before departure. You may book a taxi through your hotel reception to avoid any long waiting at the gate. The rate is about CNY100.00 for 60 minutes drive to PVG and CNY40.00 for 30 minutes drive to SHA. Alternatively, you may take the hotel shuttle bus to the airport. It is less expensive. Please contact the hotel reception for more information.
