 Day by Day Itinerary


   Day 01 - Entry Beijing
Welcome! Our local guide will wait for you at the Beijing airport ahead of your international flight schedule. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to the best Holiday Inn hotel in Beijing - Holiday Inn Central Plaza, which is located at the No. 1 Caiyuanjie, Xuanwuqu. Then have a good rest at the hotel for the rest of the day.

  Day 02 - Beijing
A sumptuous breakfast will be served at the hotel in the morning. After that,  you will meet other members in your group. Your guide will give you a pre-tour briefing and offer you a name list of your group members before departure. Drive to the first stop - Tiananmen Square, the square is located in the center of Beijing City, where you can see Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People and Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. The national flag raising ceremony is held in the square every morning synchronize with the sunrise. If you are interested in it, you need to get up very early in the morning and join in the queue to expect the commencement of the ceremony. Then move to the Forbidden City to witness the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The palace was divided into two parts, the southern half, or the Outer Court where emperors  executed their supreme power over the nation and the northern half, or the Inner Court where they lived with their royal family. Until 1924 when the last emperor in China was driven out of the palace, 14 emperors of the Ming dynasty and 10 emperors of the Qing dynasty had reigned here. The a la carte lunch is served at a fancy restaurant where you could order your favorite food. Continue to visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. The Temple is divided by two enclosed walls into inner part and outer part. The main buildings of the Temple lie at the south and north ends of the middle axis line of the inner part. The brilliant Chinese Kung fu show scheduled at the Red Theatre awaits you tonight. (B, L)
 
 Day 03 - Beijing 
You will have a whole morning to visit the Beijing Great Wall which is one of the eight wonders of the world. The part we will arrange for you is Badaling section. You will be deeply impressed by this grand and huge project. Before moving to the next stop, we will arrange a gorgeous lunch for you at a non-shopping site restaurant to refresh. Then transfer to the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. The Sacred road is often lined with stone statues which are important decorations of the mausoleum. After you pass through the road, you will see the Ming Tomb in the end. On the way back to the urban area, you will pass by one of the Olympic National Stadium - Bird's Nest. Our guide will stop and give you some time to take photos. (B, L)

  Day 04 - Beijing/ Xian

Today's Beijing tour covers the Summer Palace and the Hutong area. The whole Summer Palace is divided into three parts: the administrative area, the residential area and the scenic area. The Scenery Browsing Area is the essential part of Summer Palace. You will have a chance to appreciate the unique scenery of Chinese imperial garden. Have your a la carte lunch at a fancy restaurant, and then a comfortable airport transfer will be followed. Take a flight to Xian and transfer to the 4-star Grand New World Hotel in the downtown.  Day 05 - Xian 
Today, our guide will take you to another one of the eight wonders - the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. You will have a whole morning to visit this marvelous project. In 1974 when a group of peasants were digging a well, it become the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century when they unearthed fragments of a life sized Terra Cotta Warrior. Excavation of the vault revealed thousands of warriors and their horses - an entire army designed to follow its emperor into eternity. At noon, a special homely cooked lunch will be served to you at a local people’s home. In the afternoon, transfer back to downtown and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This temple is originally built in 589 A.D. in the Sui Dynasty, once named Wu  Lou Si Temple until 648 A.D. When Emperor Li Zhi, then still a crown prince, sponsored a repair project on the temple. This was a symbol of thanksgiving to his mother for her kindness, after she had suffered an early death. The temple then assumed the present name, Temple of Da Ci'en (Thanksgiving). Then visit the City Wall. There are total 98 ramparts on the wall and there are 120 meters distance from each other - towers that extruding out from the main wall. This evening, we will specially prepare a traditional Dumpling dinner and a brilliant Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show for you. (Tips: Dumplings are a traditional local food in northern China and are made of wheat flour with various indigenous fillings. This has long been a favorite food of the local people, so we have arranged for you to have a taste of this specialty today. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the diversified Chinese food culture. However, we suggest you do not expect too much from this dinner, it is just a new and different experience during your trip.) (B, L, D)

 Day06 - Xian/ Shanghai
In the morning, drive to the Muslim residential area and tour the Great Mosque. Inscriptions from the stone tablets indicate that the Great Mosque, located at Huajue Lane, five minutes walk from the Drum Tower in the center of Xi'an city was originally set up in 742 AD during the Tang Dynasty. An a la carte lunch will be arranged at a local noted restaurant. Then fly to the fashion city - Shanghai. Our guide will help you to check in at a deluxe 5-star Howard Johnson Business Hotel.  Day 07 - Shanghai

Today, you will begin the Shanghai tour from the Shanghai Museum, which is located in People's Square and established in 1952. This museum was opened to visitors at the end of 1995. Then our guide will show you the most celebrated classical Chinese garden in Shanghai - Yuyuan Garden. In 1559, a Ming official named Pan Yunduan launched the construction of this private garden for his father's pleasure. The construction lasted for 19 years. Later, due to the decline of the Pan family, the garden gradually fell into disuse. After several large-scale re-constructions since 1949, Yu Yuan was finally opened to the public in 1961. After the specially arranged a la carte lunch, our tour guide and driver will take you to visit the Bund, Nanjing Road and an old street in Shanghai.(B, L)

  Day 08 - Exit Shanghai
Your China tour will come to end this day. Pack your luggage and take a shower before leaving, but please make sure to check out the hotel before 12 o'clock. Take a shuttle bus to the airport by yourself and board your homeward flight. You may also get some transportation information from the reception of hotel. However, if you plan to extend your China tours, our tour operator will be pleased to arrange you the private extension tour for you. (B)
