You may have a good rest from the jet lag or stroll around the streets near your hotel to have a brief view of the city.

 Day 02: Beijing
Your first day of touring in our capital city will begin with strolling across the Tiananmen Square which is regarded as the largest square of its kind in the world. Tiananmen (Heaven Peace Gate) is situated at the north of the square. The design of the tower has been used as a symbol on the national emblem. Then walk to the Forbidden City which is near to the Tiananmen Square. Dominating the heart of the city, the Forbidden City is a range of well-preserved palace architecture of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Among the four gates, the southern gate, Wumen (Meridian Gate) is the main entrance for most visitors to the Forbidden City. After enjoying an a la carte lunch at a nice restaurant, you will be transferred to visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. It is enclosed by a long wall. The northern part is semicircular symbolizing Heaven and the southern part is square symbolizing Earth. This design reflects ancient Chinese thought of 'The heaven is round and the earth is square'. In the evening, you will enjoy a fascinating Chinese Kungfu show at Red Theater. (B, L)

 Day 03: Beijing
The day's highlight is the visit to the Badaling Great Wall which is the grandest ancient military fortification in the world and a must for every traveler to China. The ancient Qin wall has experienced continuous extensions and restorations throughout the 2,000-year history of Chinese feudal society. Two construction campaigns in the Han (206 B.C. - 220) and Ming (1368 - 1644) dynasties brought about the remarkable extensions to the wall. The present wall remains in Beijing are mainly the result of the Ming period. To celebrate this historic visit, your lunch is specially arranged at a local popular Sichuan cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the Summer Palace, reputed to be the best preserved Museum of Imperial Garden Architecture in China. Originally built in 1750, the imperial garden complex underwent several times renovations and extensions throughout the late Qing Dynasty (1368 - 1644).  On the way back to downtown, we will drive by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) to see its appearance at a distance.
