Day 01: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Upon your arrival, check in at a local hotel and have a good rest. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
Day 02: Addis Ababa
Have a full day tour of Addis Ababa, the highest city in Africa. Start the day by visiting Mount Entoto. Afterwards visit the Mariam Church and the Archangel Raguel Church. Then visit the National Archeological Museum.
Day 03: Addis Ababa - Bahir Dar
Fly to Bahir Dar in the morning. Then take a cruise over the Lake Tana to Zeghe Peninsula. Visit the Betra Mariam Church and Ura Kidane Mehret Church. You can also see various kinds of birds in the forest. Then back to Bahir Dar.
Day 04: Bahir Dar - Gondar
Drive to Gondar. Then explore Gondar. First, visit the Fasalidas Castles and the bath of King Fasalidas. Then visit the Debre Berhan Selassie Church. Afterwards visit the site of the Palace of Queen Mentowab and Qusquam Church.
Day 05: Gondar - Simyen Mountains National Park - Gondar
After breakfast, drive to Debark and then continue your driving to Sankaber Camp. Visit the Simyen Mountains National Park, a U/NESCO World Heritage Site. You can see various kinds of animals and birds such as Gelada, Klipspringer, Thick-billed Raven and White-collared Pigeon. Head back to Gondar. Visit the former Felasha village at Wolleka and purchase some well-content potteries.
Day 06: Gondar - Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela. Check in at a local hotel and have a short rest. Then drive to the Nakuto Leab Monastery for a visit.
Day 07: Lalibela
Visit the rock churches built by the King Lalibela and enjoy the architectural styles.
Day 08: Lalibela - Axum
Fly to Axum and check in at the local hotel. Start by visiting the Stelae Park and St. Mary’s Church. Next visit the Sanctuary Chapel and the Axum Museum and then the ruins of Queen Shaba’s Palace and King Kaleb’s Tomb.
Day 09: Axum - Addis Ababa
Fly to Addis Ababa. Visit the Merkato, African largest market, and you can purchase some souvenirs to your heart’s content.
Day 10: Addis Ababa - Accra
Fly to Accra. Upon your arrival, check in at the local hotel and have a good rest. Visit the Arts and Crafts Market
Day 11: Accra
Take a full day to explore Accra. Visit Independence Square and Independence Arch and then the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, which is built to commemorate Ghana’s first president: Kwame Nkrumah.
Day 12: Accra - Kakum National Park - Cape Coast
Drive to Kakum National Park. Have a walking tour of the park and see various kinds of animals especially butterflies. You can also have an aerial walk in the park. Then head on to Cape Coast and stay overnight at a local hotel.
Day 13: Cape Coast
Start the day by heading to Cape Coast. Visit Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then visit Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Castle Museum.
Day 14: Cape Coast - Kumasi
Drive to Kumasi. Upon arrival, check in at a local hotel and have a short rest. Then visit the Kumasi Central Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa, and you can purchase some well-content souvenirs here.
Day 15: Kumasi
Take a full day to visit the Ashanti craft villages. Start the day by visiting the pottery-making village of Pankrono. Afterwards, head on to Ahwiaa. You can see the exquisite woodcarving craftsmanship. Next destination is Ntonso and you can see the adinkra cloth for some stately occasions. Then visit Bonwire and the Kente cloth is weaved on looms by hand.
Day 16: Kumasi - Busua Beach Resort
Drive to Busua Beach Resort. Have water sports and then take a canoe cruise to the Busua Island for a visit. You can also visit the Fort Metal Cross at Dixcove.
Day 17: Busua Beach Resort - Accra / Exit
Drive to Aburi Botanical Gardens and view various kinds of plants. Then head on to Accra.
